IndiGo flight 6E925, operating from Patna to Lucknow, was found to have damage to its nose section after landing at Lucknow airport on Wednesday. All 104 passengers on board were safe, according to officials, with no reports of injuries. A source said the aircraft landed normally around 4 pm and the flight did not involve an emergency landing.
An official told PTI: “The aircraft landed normally around 4 pm and there were no reports of any injuries. The damage was noticed by the airport team after landing, following which the IndiGo team was informed and the aircraft was declared Aircraft on Ground (AOG),” An airport official said: “The aircraft is undergoing a technical inspection and further necessary action. As part of the preliminary assessment, the possibility of the aircraft encountering lightning during adverse weather conditions is being examined,”
A lightning strike is suspected but has not been confirmed. The aircraft is undergoing technical inspection, and the airline is to share further technical details after completing its investigation. The reports describe no emergency landing and no injuries among the 104 passengers, and the cause of the damage has not been confirmed by the airline.
